This was my key learning from working with naturopath Dr. Fong last year and a foundational understanding for all of us to share as we plot a course to a robust 100 years of age.
If you are experiencing ANY SYMPTOMS in your body, even light headaches, not sleeping through the night, muscle aches, joint pain, skin conditions, anything other than at least one brown snake that sinks per day, these are SIGNALS from the body that it needs help.
I’ve shared some of the ways we can help the funnel such as getting daylight into the eyes first thing. This regulates our circadian rhythm and encourages proper sleep, the time when our body can focus on taking in the groceries and bringing out the trash.
You and I both know there are many more behaviors that support health.

Learning together at a reasonable pace.
Evaluating and experimenting with our daily, weekly, monthly, annual rituals.
Because it can get overwhelming. Expensive. And some of the language like “toxic burden” is a little scary.
What works for me may not work for you.
There is compelling evidence that lots of counter culture behavior change is worth our attention and consideration.
And I have been persuaded by other’s ideas and ways of presenting information.
But I think there are even clearer ways of presenting these ideas, like today’s missive, that are hopefully even more compelling to the degree that you actually do things that uplift your health and spirit.
I just returned from 9 wonderful days in Amsterdam.
Spent with people I love, in a place I love as it transformed into Spring. My partner and I walked over 60 miles!
As we all walk together into this new season of Spring, what spring cleaning of our body can we be doing? What seeds can we plant toward the future we most want? What new behaviors can we adopt that might crowd out things that are not serving us?
I like to eat one pack or bunch of beets per week, as one suggestion. Would love if you would share something you have recently added that might help another member.
