This week, catabolism and anabolism.
Taking a moment to think of who we will become on our path to 100.
No, I’m not talking about eating Grandpa because he’s aged to perfection.
Instead, today I invite you to ponder the processes happening inside your body and over the course of your life.
In particular, we’ve been on this path to 100 together for just a few months.
At the two year mark, we will all be made of entirely new cells.
We will break down the old cells and build up new ones.
That’s catabolism and anabolism.
We don’t really recycle - we upcycle.
So what will you be making this next iteration of yourself out of?
Beyond healthy foods, what thoughts will you be made of?
Dr. Candace Pert from the National Institute of Mental Health said, “Every time we think a thought, a molecule is created in our bodies.”
With this in mind, let’s ponder our future selves on this path to 100:
How might you invite yourself to see you through a more compassionate lens?
Do you have a secret wish for future you?
Is it time to let go of anything holding you back?
How can future you be the most robust version you can imagine?
Poetry. Powerful. Provocative.
