Let’s continue our journey into the best wellness gifts of 2023!
For the Culture by Dr. Marcus Collins
Not only is good health expensive, it requires going against the cultural norms. In fact, it requires creating our own culture, and why I am so grateful you are here, creating new norms together.
NO ONE has done a better job expressing the current understanding of culture than Dr. Marcus Collins in his new book, For the Culture: The Power Behind What We Buy, What We Do, and Who We Want to Be.
I highly recommend reading For the Culture to become an expert at breaking away from unhealthy cultural conventions and learning how to create your own healthy culture among your fam. It also is a must read if you work in marketing and a great gift for strategists!
Toe Spacers
I rarely see feet that wouldn’t benefit from the antidote to modern smooshy shoes!
If you’re new to the club, I wrote about feet back in February. Feet are your foundation, and the shape of your feet impact the joints above. Any body pain could be improved by wearing toe spreaders. And they also strengthen the muscles of the feet, making falls less likely.
My favorite brand is CorrectToes - make sure you are up and bearing weight while wearing them. They don’t work while sitting or sleeping.
Foot, Ankle, Shin Strengthener
While we’re down at the feet, let’s give a shout out to the ToePro platform.
Compared to standard exercises, using a ToePro platform is 4X more effective.
ToePro is designed to strengthen often overlooked muscles that are proven to prevent falls. How does it work? That extra squishy foam makes each bit of movement effective.
NOT available on Amazon, must purchase directly from Human Locomotion.
Non-Toxic Nailcare
Nail enamel is serving toxins, not glam! So I opt for Bare Hands’ Dry Gloss Polishing. (Not available on Amazon).
This set delivers a high gloss shine that you finish with a little cuticle oil. Look perfectly put together without the fumes. Comes in a very cute leather storage case.
StoryWorth - Capture Loved One’s Stories
StoryWorth is an online service that prompts the recipient to answer one question a week with a story from their life. At the end of the year, the collected stories are printed into a physical book. They also offer a “celebration” edition where many people can contribute stories for a wedding or graduation.
The giver gets email updates and gets to read each story as it is completed.
It’s therapy and legacy in one.
I chose this for my parents last year and am deeply grateful that they took on this “part-time job” to get their stories written. I’ve learned so much! I highly recommend gifting StoryWorth.
