As I reflect on 2023, I am deeply grateful for the camaraderie that sending these articles has created.
Many of you have sent me emails in response to articles, left comments, participated in the polls, or simply hit the “like” button to send some digital love.
I’ve also been invited to create training sessions on well-being at work! Keep asking for this, please.
My hands-on bodywork skills and practice have grown tremendously this year. Come see me in Oakland or Berkeley.
And my awareness about the purpose of this project has evolved.
Goodbye Project 100
By calling it Project 100, I now view it as having too much focus on the number, somewhere, someday in the future.
What I care about is now.
What is an organizing idea that is about motivation in the present and camaraderie to make new lifestyle choices?
What will attract friends who care about their well-being to hang with?
What will help me meet fellow health-seekers who like experimenting to build wellness and resilience?
Hello Robust Choices
I realized what sums up this project most aptly is the commitment to sharing possibilities that lead to healthy, vibrant, robust lives. Robust has been an important word, ever since a teacher in massage school invited me to realize I would meet many elders as I practice bodywork, from very frail to very robust. And if I get to choice, I want to be a robust one.
But the deeper realization has come as I’ve found my way out of chronic pain and gut health issues: Robust Choices are easier to make with friends.
Robust Choices are easier when we examine one behavior or choice at a time.
So I have decided to “rebrand.”
You will now see Robust Choices as the name of this Substack. (If I missed a spot, will you please tell me?)
I plan to manifest the ideal that it gets to be easy and fun to find ways to live that serve our humanness.
And that starts with some end of year rest and recovery.
See you in the new year with renewed vigor for some Robust Choices.
