Let’s face it: making healthy choices can get expensive.
So I am always excited to learn about moves I can make that are free or low cost and also have a big positive impact.
Today, I have three things you can do to help your mouth and teeth stay tip top that are affordable.
AM/PM Toothbrushes
First up, we’re making a slight change to our tooth brushing ritual.
Instead of one toothbrush, I invite you to get two when it’s time to re up.
Why two tooth brushes?
Because the bacteria in our mouths can make a home in the forest of our damp bristles.
But if we have two toothbrushes, one for the morning and one for at night, each brush will get a full 24 hours to dry out. And a dry brush is not a welcoming home for our oral microbes.
Blow Those Suckers Up
While we do want a healthy flora of oral beasties, we often have too many of the wrong ones that produce acids that wear away our teeth.
What to do?
Add xylitol mints into the equation.
These sugar free babies feed the little microbes and, as the bacteria digest, they explode. No kidding! No more beasties.
I’m a big fan of Zellie’s xylitol mints in spearmint flavor.
Last Up, Do Nothing
When it comes to our mouth, we may just be opening it and shoving stuff in a little too much.
I know, it can be really difficult just to get those rainbow plates and plenty of water down the hatch.
But if you’re ready to play the next level in the game of health, aim to give your mouth a full break, especially in the afternoon.
That’s right, just you and your saliva.
This is the environment that remineralizes teeth.
Let us know if you’re game to try any of these robust changes.
